Built in 1865 by Robert Steele and Co. the Sir Lancelot was originally referred to as the Yacht of the Indian Ocean.  Built to perfection she was one of the quickest clippers of her time.  Her best run was in 1869, Shanghai to New York in 95 days.  She was splendid and a sight to be seen.  She had an amazing 30 year run, and was last seen on the 1st of October 1895 off of the Sand Heads, Calcutta.
